Our estate wines-- Syrah, Sangiovese, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Nebbiolo-- are made from our four-acre CCOF certified organic Bernat vineyard adjacent to our Cafe Farm where we grow our produce for our restaurant. Our wines are crafted using old world methods of wine making which bring out the distinctive qualities of each varietal allowing the wines to express themselves in their most natural way. Attention to detail starts in the vineyard and is expressed in your glass.

Fantastic spice aromas lead to notes of fresh blackberry, plum, blueberry, rich black cherry and smokey game, giving this Syrah an exotic mix of flavors. Dense, full-bodied and ripe with black fruits, channeling the famous northern Rhone valley style. Tightly focused, striking a blance between the broad array of flavors and the firm tannins. This is a perfect Syrah to pair with lamb dishes, grilled meats, or just a night by the fireplace. Cold soaked for two weeks, naturally fermented, unfined and unfiltered. Only 100 Cases Produced!

Lovely honeydew, pineapple, and lemon blossom notes lead off, backed by graceful honeysuckle and pear details. Fresh, light to medium bodied mouthfeel shines with crisp acidity and stone fruits. Lingering round finish with ripe fruits and a hint of citrus. The fruit comes from Camp 4 Vineyard and is naturally fermented in 1/2 Stainless steel and 1/2 neutral French oak barrels, unfined and unfiltered.
Grenache Blanc’s inherent richness and spice make it a very versatile wine at the table. Enjoy this limited production wine with a variety of dishes such as the Nicoise Salad here at the Café as it will complement the seared tuna beautifully, or try it with herbed pork chops and apples at home.

Nebbiolo is a challenging grape to farm, there are many factors that are needed from a vintage in order to harness its full potential. 2011 was one such vintage where the ripeness needed was attained – resulting in an incredibly elegant and complex wine with incredible structure. The color will catch the eye immediately with a brilliant ruby hue gleaming beautifully in the glass. Aromas of wild cherry, rose petal and soft leather are just of a few of the initial scents the nose uncovers. The structure is classic Nebbiolo with firm tannin balanced by a very present acidity -- an excellent representation of the varietal! Enjoy this with the Café Lamb Shank and it is sure to be a memorable experience. Only 40 cases produced.

The Colson Canyon vineyard is located just beyond the western border of the Santa Maria Valley AVA. It is a notably cooler climate site than the Bernat 'Estate' Syrahs. The vineyard provides a unique set of flavors and structure. Classic Syrah notes of deep berry fruit come off in the initial aromatics-- blackberry, blueberry, and cherry. The cooler climate gives this wine a great backbone of acidity, coupled with fine tannins forming a well rounded and approachable structure. It is delicious with our Corsica Pizza and Cafe Roasted Lamb.
